Everyday I'm Packaging [an update]

Hi lovely friends! I'm very happy to report that the sale was an amazing success! I really want to thank anyone that joined the site, checked out the sale, and passed the word along to others. Needless to say I have been busy busy trying to organize the aftermath and preparing all of the items to be shipped. And as life will have it from time to time, a few curveballs have been thrown my way and to be honest the last thing on my mind lately is keeping up with blogs posts. So I am just going to surrender to current circumstance and take a break until I'm refreshed and full of fun new stories and tidbits to share. With that being said, see you all on the flip side :)

Vintage Me Oh My

Vintage Mug Shot

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite sources of inspiration. Vintage Me Oh My is the brain child of graphic designer Megan Cummins, and is a culmination of all things vintage and lovely. When I'm feeling stuck in a design rut I love to visit Megan's site for a fresh perspective. She posts an array of posters, signs, packing, photography - just about anything with a vintage touch. She also posts some really great turn of the century typography posters (for you other typography nerds out there). To quote Megan herself, "If you like vintage goodness, this blog is going to be your online crack. Yep. It’s going to be an ongoing stream of drool-worthy, thought-provoking, creative-inducing eye candy- from print to packaging, typography to illustration."
She also makes available some great high resolution downloads of some of the images. These are great if your looking to add a few fun vintage prints to your home. Here are some of my favorite posts...

Stripes and Boots

Boots - ebay, shorts - thrifted, shirt - J crew

I call this look Urban Parisian Cowgirl, I'm pretty clever right? I finally found exactly the pair of boots I was looking for. Albeit I broke down and searched ebay for them but I think it was worth paying a few extra dollars for the shipping.
This weekend was full of awesome music, dancing on chairs, and of course...lots of yummy baked goods. You may recall I was really excited about seeing MuteMath and they definitely lived up to all of my expectations. One of the best nights ever, there were handstands on keyboards for crying out loud! That's really all I can say about that. I got to hang out with a bunch of lovely girls Saturday and ate the most delicious blueberry cinnamon rolls I have ever had in my entire life (Ashley, you are a genius). So yes, it was all around and epically glorious weekend.
Big question looming over my head lately...10 year high school reunion? Too attend or not to attend...what is you guys' view on this subject, did you attend yours? Mine is coming up and I'm just not sure how i feel about it.....

Friday Frames

My pretty Birthday tulips

I managed to collect a few lovely little moments from the week to share. All of my prep for is done and I'm ready to relax and enjoy the weekend. We are going to see one of my favorite bands tonight, Mutemath!!!!! I'm really so excited I can barely contain myself...seriously. I can hardly get motivated to drive out of town for shows anymore and we don't get that many great shows here in Baton Rouge. So MuteMath + Baton Rouge + Friday night+ one of my favorite venues equals a very happy girl. I also foresee in my future some girl time with blueberry cinnamon rolls, ohhhhhh it's going to be heavenly. And probably lots of cocktails, it's the freakin weekend after all people!!! I hope yours is equally lovely :)

Have a Happy Weekend!

Photo from sunken treasure

I still get really excited for birthdays. I love the special meals, sweet treats, and yes, the presents! I kicked off the celebrations with a lovely lady date last night with my besties and plan to continue the festivities all weekend. I'll be having a lovely birthday date tomorrow and then spending a lazy day with my family. It's also my little brother's birthday this weekend, so I'll be doing a little baking of sweet treats myself.

Here are some of my favorite "party posts" from around the web. I hope you all enjoy this cool fall weekend :)

Pleats and Thank You

This is my most favorite thrifted find to date. I try to keep a running list of things I'm looking for when I go to the thrift store, and most of those things I don't find very quickly. Case in point, I have been searching for a pair of comfy, flat black cowboy boots for a while. Mid calf, very simple - boots that can be my everyday winter wears. Since mid summer I have been searching for these, and still no luck.
But... soon after I became obsessed with finding all things pleated, I caught a break and found this beauty. ($2 thank you very much) It had a few stains on it but nothing a trip to the dry cleaners couldn't fix. Perfect color (gray-hello!), elastic waistband means no alterations, a great length. So happy!! I really can't wait to pair it with some cute chunky sweaters and booties.
What are some of your favorite thrifted finds? Are there any special things you are always on the look out for?

It is officially fall people!

Scooter ride!

Can you tell I'm so excited! Let's see...this weekend I finally dug into my fall sweaters (and did not break a sweat while wearing it), went on my first scooter ride of the season (as a passenger of course), and we had our first gumbo!
The weather was amazing, dipping into the 50s, and not quite breaking 80 - it was all  around lovely. The boyfriend took me for a scooter ride around the LSU lakes and showed me a secret patch of cacti in our neighborhood (he definitely knows the way to my heart). I always forget how scared I get on the scooter until we pull out of the driveway. This girl does not have the need for speed. After a few minutes though, my heart slows down and I realize we are going slower than the cars. At that point I feel silly and start to enjoy the ride.
I also had some great family time this weekend and a wonderful brunch on Sunday morning.
Aside from that, there was lots and lots of time spent on the computer. I've been working on a really exciting etsy-related venture coming up later this month. Trying to stay ahead of the curve and what not, we'll see if I can pull this off.
Next on my list of fall activities, Spiced Apple Cider! I spotted this great recipe today at A Beautiful Mess, and I can't wait to try it! Is any one sick of me talking about fall yet? I hope not because it's my favorite season! And not just because it's my birthday month, hehe! (ps. my bday is this Sunday, this lady is getting old. I'll be 28, ep!)
